I can’t remember my password:

Its important once you sign on to APEX for the first time to make a password you remember.  Neither APEX nor NWLS keep a record of passwords.  If you can’t remember please contact NWLS at 425.420.1236 and we can reset your password for you.

I want to take a test in my World Language course and it says it’s proctored

All World Language tests are proctored at NWLS.  We are available Monday – Friday 9am – 4pm.  There is no need to have an appointment for proctoring.

I want to achieve a high score on a test or quiz:

The most important part of achieving a high score is to thoroughly read the directions and answer the question(s) being asked.   Pay attention to words like always, never and best.  Review your possible answers prior to selecting the best answer for the question.  Prior to starting the quiz or test it is important to review your study material.

I failed a quiz*:

You are in luck.  You can review your answers to see where you went wrong.  Your computer scored quizzes and tests are set up to allow you to re-take a failed (below 70%) quiz 3 times.  If you scored a 70% or above you can not retake the quiz.  *AP courses and World Language courses do NOT allow for any re-takes.

I got locked out what do I do?

If you do not achieve a passing score on the third try you need to contact your teacher via APEX message board.  You will be given the last of your three scores and allowed to progress.  You will NOT be allowed to continue to re-take the quiz. Please note: Staff is only available during office hours to M-F 9-5 to get you back in after being locked out. 

Extra credit:

Extra credit is determined on a case by case basis.  If you are within 15 points of moving up a letter grade; you have time left in your course; and all your work is turned in and scored your teacher can allow you to have an extra credit assignment.  However, if you don’t meet the criteria is not offered.
