Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems
Interesting and relevant learning that can impact life is good education. Northwest Liberty School and 21 Acres, a non-profit, agricultural and environmental learning center, are teaming up to offer a high school Sustainable Agriculture course. Working closely with Edmonds Community College, this course is the start of other related and subsequent courses.
The hands-on course blends the classroom work with hands-in-the-dirt work. Students benefit from a well-designed, research agricultural center and become contributing members of 21 Acres. The experience will affect the way every student sees plants, food, and the land.
A final group project is designed to benefit local communities.
