Everyone Can Learn! Choose the BEST way for YOU!

On-Site Classes

If you are local to Puget Sound, we would love to have you come to class with one of our expert teachers. NWLS offers both one-to-one and small class instruction on site. In these classes, teachers design a course with student’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests in mind. Each student has two On-Site options: One-to-One (OO) and In-Class (IC). On-site students typically meet once a week per class with a credentialed teacher, and students complete three to five hours of homework during the week.

One-to-One (OO)

When students are given individual attention amazing things happen. Students who never or rarely felt academic success begin to excel. Often times learning gaps are filled and students catch up quickly. Highly motivated and talented students have the ceiling removed and move forward with innovative and tailored curriculum designed by experts in the field of study.

Virtual Learning (VL) Coming Soon!

NWLS is currently working with students worldwide online, but we want to do even better. Students not in the Seattle area will have the opportunity to work with our professional teachers in real time with an innovative use of technology. Our mission is to provide all students what they need to best create and reach their goals. Digital Learning will follow a Blended Learning model, but instead of students sitting in class, students and teachers will share computer screens for face-to-face instruction.

Northwest Liberty School is also pleased to announce that is it a Distance Learning provider for the State of Washington. Students from Washington State school districts interested in partnering with us will receive the same care as those who come to us directly. Counselors, principals, or superintendents please see the page in Special Programs and Partnerships to read more about this program.

Blended Learning

Blended Learning is the combination of an online curriculum and face-to-face instruction—the best of both worlds. Students have the benefit of having interactive curriculum available 24/7 with a weekly teacher appointment to ensure mastery of material and discuss key concepts. A recent study by the U. S. Department of Education concluded that this blended learning model is “more effective” than traditional face-to-face instruction (Means 20).  Read the entire study here.

Independent Study Classes (IS)

Are you self-motivated? Can you learn and excel when working independently? Then this may be the type of class you seek. Northwest Liberty School offers an assortment of Independent Study classes for busy students who are actively learning. This type of class has the least amount of teacher interaction and is reserved for specific courses. Although NWLS offers IS classes in each subject area, our most popular Independent Study courses are PE/Life Fitness.

In-Class (IC)

NWLS offers small classes of between two and ten students as numbers dictate. Similar to One-to-One classes, the curriculum is fully accredited, NCAA approved, and tailored to students. The addition of students means valuable class discussions, peer reviews, social interaction, and camaraderie.

Online Classes (OL)

Are you busy? Do you spend hours outside of the school day at band practice, playing a sport, learning the lines for your play or song, or just doing your own, unique thing that makes you, you? NWLS can help you make time for those things and get high school credits!

Taking classes online has become a more popular option as technology and software reach demanding needs of students. Many students find that having access to curriculum and instruction anytime, anywhere extremely helpful. Students require flexibility of time and attention in the fast-paced society in which they live to excel academically. Taking online classes to supplement regular coursework is a simple way to make up credits, accelerate in a particular subject, complete graduation credits, allow for more elective space in the traditional schedule, or just to explore an interesting subject. NWLS utilizes the Apex Learning* curriculum as its platform for its online classes. In 2013-2014 alone Apex provided accredited 1.65 million courses to more than 500,000 students. Check out the impressive list of online courses we offer!
