A Snapshot of NWLS

• Since starting in the Fall, 2008, over 600 students have enrolled classes or used our educational services.
• Options for students range from dual to full-time enrollment, AP/Honors to credit recovery, online to small group instruction, contract learning, proctoring, independent studies, Summer and Winter School, and academic support.
• NWLS offers courses in core and elective subjects. The academic schedule varies depending upon the subject and grade level.
• Washington State approved private school and accreditation by Northwest Accreditation Commission (formerly know as Northwest Association of Accredited Schools).

Location:
NWLS. Corner of Hwy 522 & 131st Ave. NE (across from Dairy Queen) in Woodinville

Online (OL) & Independent Studies (IS) include most subjects, i.e. Health, PE, Life Fitness, and Wa. St. Online courses start the first week of June.  Independent Study courses like PE, Life Fitness can be started immediately.

Credit Recovery (CR) is a four-week, hybrid academic model. Failing a course qualifies students for Credit Recovery classes. They are Pass/Fail grading.

Regular Ed. (RE) Courses are in-class, online, or contract-learning models of instruction.  To replace the “point value” of a grade on a transcript, students need to attend Friday classes to earn a “full course” credit.  Additional homework is required.  Letter graders are used.

Accelerated Math for Jr. High Students. For students who want to take Honors math, we offer online courses that fulfill the coursework requirement and is approved by NSD.  Approval from the neighborhood school is required.

Tuition is based upon the number of days per week a class meets.

Student who qualify for Free/Reduce Lunches are given 1/2 off the tuition.  Documentation is required.

April 1st – June 23rd; 12:30 – 5:00: Mail-in or Drop-off
June 24th: In-person, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Pertinent Information

  • All earned credit is transferable to any school. Official transcripts are emailed directly to NSD’s schools.  Parents are Cc’ed.  Students from other school districts will be mailed official transcripts.
  • Online courses are available to June 1.  In some cases, a course maybe started earlier
  • Class times and offerings are subject to change.
  • Late completion of any course is subject to a $25 late fee per week.
